So where do BIS graduates end up working? A recent inventory of LinkedIn records for BIS’ers who graduated in the previous five years shows some interesting results. As the graph below shows, graduates land in a broad spectrum of fields in both the private and public sectors, including software, automotive, health care and accounting.

Some of these categories are dominated by a single company or just a few. For instance, Automotive almost exclusively represents in Portland. ThreeÌýother companies that regularly hire BIS graduates are , and , all present in the Portland area. Hires in the Accounting category are notable because they represent mostly accounting-BIS double degree graduates.

As far as geography is concerned, BIS graduates seem to heavily favor the U.S. West Coast, particularly the Portland area and greater Willamette Valley. Increasingly, though, companies whose focus is national and/or international are hiring our graduates and placing them across the country and sometimes around the world.

We know, by the way, that we have significantly more BIS graduates than we have dots on the map. If only those folks would stay current on LinkedIn, like the four mentioned below:
